Hero Cop
A man was on his way to to a memorial day parade in Elm Grow WI, when he witnessed a van that had become stuck between the gates on the train tacks preventing the car doors from being opened. Inside the vehicle was Monica Partenfelder and her two year old son.
A train was quickly approaching and there was no way for the young family inside the van to escape. This is when eye witnesses say Officer John Krahn came out of nowhere to help.
The police officer got the mother out of the van in time, but they couldn't get the 2-year old boy out of the car seat. The train smashed into the van, knocking the vehicle off the track. The 2-year old was in the van when the train collided with it head on. Incredibly, the young boy wasn't hurt.
Witnesses say even after the crash, Officer Krahn was only worried about the boy's safety. When paramedics arrived to to give medical attention to officer Krahn he was beat up pretty bad however he still was screaming and trying to do whatever he could to get the young boy out of danger. Officer John Krahn, now in the hospital, is being praised for his actions. T
